Ventures Background

Jason Tucker set up Venture Construction & Developments Ltd on the back of a long history of experience within the construction industry.

Jason Tucker has a reputation for reliability built up over many years, which is based on more than keeping its promises.  It results from sound management and carefully organised systems and, most of all, a recognition that a reliable company means reliable people.

The development of its subcontractors has always played a big part in the company.  At every level clients deal with personnel whose experience contributes to the success of each project.  This policy has helped the firm form strong working relationships with its company clients, such as MJC Group, County Wide Home Care Ltd, Tilbury Trucks Ltd, Glasscote Ltd, Rockney House Residential Home, as well as many private individuals.

Aims for the Future

Venture Construction & Developments Ltd. is a new company formed in April 2005 by Managing Director Jason Tucker. With a wide range of projects undertaken through the Private Sector, the Company aims to negotiate with Public Sector Clients to further expand its business portfolio. A much respected construction company in the Worcestershire area, Venture is recognised for the reliability of its organisation, the quality of its work and the skills and loyalty of its employees.

For the future it aims to take advantage of those strengths by maintaining and further developing its strong links with the Private Sector Clients and, without prejudicing it’s service to that sector, build on it’s Public Sector with a view to climbing the ladder with Local Authorities.

It will continue to aim to ensure that its employees have the motivation and skills to continue to provide clients with the best possible services.

Strategies

 Employee Development

Venture will develop, and review the effectiveness of its employee training and development skills.

With specific regard to Training and Development, ensure that the company maintains equality of opportunity for all its employees.

To maintain employee Personal Development Review (PDR) programme-enabling employees to help to identify their own personal training development needs and follow this up with the completion of a Training Needs Analysis and formal Training and Development programme.

To address Succession Planning, providing Management training as appropriate, in order to help the company maintain its ‘promotion from within’ culture.

Continue to recruit, support and develop Apprentices, establish on-site assessment procedures and introduce a formal review interview programme.

To review existing Induction procedures to ensure that the training and development needs for new employees are addressed from the start; these procedures to apply, also, to existing employees who are promoted or change jobs.

To evaluate the effectiveness of training and development activities:

  • ensuring that employees are properly briefed before a training activity starts
  • debriefing when the training has been completed and measuring the effect on attitude and performance during succeeding months

Communications

To create an atmosphere that enables the company to share with employees:

  • where the company is going
  • what the company needs to do to get there
  • what management, employees, Office and Sites need to do to do to help the company get there
  • how well the company is doing: starting with the distribution of a copy of this Business plan, to all employees, in order that they are aware of the company’s Aims and Objectives.

To review current ‘meeting’ practices to ensure that senior staff are aware of new projects, the progress of existing projects and the performance of completed projects and empower senior staff to cascade as much of that information, as is practical, to those employees for whom they are responsible.

To ensure that site operatives, including subcontract labour, are fully briefed when commencing new projects, or when joining an existing team, including safety factors, an outline of the work that has to be done, who is doing what and the reasons for the ‘team selection’ and the planned completion date.

To give consideration to

  • producing a regular Newsletter
  • holding regular general works meetings
